I've actually experienced first hand improvements from my Spring at a friend's place with proper headgear (KGGG + 009S) but still am concerned about the couple of feedback with a bit more "hifi/clinical/mechanical" presentation vs the lush spring. I am still on the fence with upgrading from my Holo spring 1 to the may dac. In particular, I seem to have developed a basic allergy toward Chord gear, first as result of past underwhelming experiences (at shows so maybe invalid but nevertheless) and now simply as result of it being often peddled as the ultimate choice when it in reality is a very expensive proposition when you think about what's inside the box (or the brains behind are decidedly expensive to amortize). On this side of the pound, even though I did my share of signal theory at school, water has long passed under the bridge and I guess I got a bit too old to care although I also appreciate attempts to cut through the weeds and other fotm. Now, I am not throwing the stone at either as he certainly has a point re non-nos allegation of the ares.
Tbh, while the thread started in a very informative manner, it quickly unraveled into a painful exchange making me just read in diagonal and missing a good half the discussion points.
